A look at June’s DETECTIVE COMICS #854

This June, the Bat-books will experience a bit of a face lift. In addition to having a new Batman roaming the Gotham rooftops, DETECTIVE COMICS #854 will also feature a new protagonist. Specifically, Kathy Kane — Batwoman. Now, we’ve seen a few images and a preview of the first issue, but that surely can’t be enough, can it? Check out some more amazing interiors from artist J.H. Williams, who’s teaming with writer Greg Rucka on the series.

    ‘Tec #854 looks beautiful (although the 1st and 3rd pics I can’t expand). I think I’ll have to wait for the trade for to better preserve it. Since I know I’ll be re-reading this a lot. Add to that The Question! I’m in heaven.

    Beautiful! I loved Williams’ earlier Batman arc, and I’m happy to see Batwoman take a bigger role, since she kind of disappeared after she was introduced. Give Batman a break for a while.

    I am surprised that she wears a red wig a la Batgirl from the old tv show - in 52 and other appearances she always had long red hair out of costume. I for one can’t wait for this

    Looks awesome; if the story is as dynamic as the art, it’s sure to be a hit. I’m all for different as long as it works and aspires to have quality in addition to novelty.
