Two titles that were initially announced at this year’s New York Comic-Con are heading closer to being in your hands. In an effort to make you long for those issues all the more, we’re debuting a look at the covers to the second issues of BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM and GOTHAM CITY SIRENS, both from writer Paul Dini and artists Dustin Nguyen and Guillem March, respectively. And, because we’re in a giving mood, we included two pages from the first issue of STREETS, by Nguyen. Both titles launch in June.

I’m very unhappy with the way things are going in Battle for the Cowl (I don’t think I’ll be picking up the third issue) but I’m really excited for June to get here so I can get my hands on Gotham City Sirens and Streets of Gotham. These books look and sound totally awesome and I’m a huge fan of what Paul Dini has done to the Batverse in the DCU so far. Also, knowing that Dustin is doing the art will have me enjoying the books so much more. I definitely cannot wait for these books and Rucka on Detective!

[...] So I’ve seen some interesting announcements over the past few weeks, which I thought I’d share. Over at New York Comic Con, DC announced one of the more untraditional titles to be coming out of their Battle for the Cowl event: Gotham City Sirens. Starring Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy, the Paul Dini-penned book is meant to be a “bad girl team-up book” as the three fight for their lives, which to me is an interesting premise in the wake of Birds of Prey’s finale. Check out the cover via the Source: [...]

i think streets of gotham is going to be a more promising series than sirens. dont get me wrong … ill end up getting sirens as well, but im looking forward to streets of gotham much more. i just hope they make streets of gotham a seperate series (like batman confidential) and keep batman as bruce wayne. >crosses fingers<
