A first look at the MANHUNTER co-feature

One of the co-features announced recently was MANHUNTER, from writer Marc Andreyko and the very talented Georges Jeanty. The new series, appearing monthly in the new BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM title hitting in July, finds Kate Spencer in Gotham City, now the District Attorney of Batman’s city. How will that play out? Unclear. But we do have a first look at Jeanty’s art for the series, from pencils to finished colors, for you to take a look at.

Wow! I was getting this before I saw the preview art but now I am really stoked. Thanks DC, this looks great.

Absolutely gorgeous. I’m really glad that Manhunter’s getting a backup by Andreyko. This preview art looks great, too!

Cool. I’m glad to see more Manhunter. So is this a limited co-feature? Because Kate’s an LA girl not a Gotham chic. I don’t think she fits in Batman’s realm long term.

Here’s a question regarding the entire line-wide co-feature project (which I’m giddy for, and can’t say “about time they came back” enough in regards to).

Will the co-features ever get the cover of the book? For instance … say the adventures of The Question really heat up, and Batwoman has already had a string of 10+ iconic Detective Comics covers … will we see The Question on the cover of ‘Tec?

And similarly … Manhunter getting the cover of Streets of Gotham …

(I can understand the need for a titular character to have the cover, for example, it’d be harder to have a Booster Gold cover with “BOOSTER GOLD” emblazoned on the front, but a cover depicting Jaime Reyes the Blue Beetle).

I’m almost torn… Manhunter had such a perfectly done ending. Not that I wanted it to end, mind you, but it was so good. It’s almost difficult to go backwards now.

Aw, who am I kidding? I’m ecstatic to have it back!

I stopped reading the Bat books like 10 years ago. I read a few issues of Robin two years ago, but it didn’t really grab my attention.
Now THIS is the only reason for me to take another Bat book in my hands. I loved the Manhunter series and the art for the co-feature looks just amazing. And seeing that Marc will still be writing it makes me just happy. :)

I’m really excited for this - and FINALLY we get to see a sneak peak. Very cool. I actually think Kate fits into the Gotham landscape very nicely. I hope it lasts forever this time….love the character, loved the series…
