Also, who are The Insiders and why are they talking to a certain Slade Wilson? For some answers, click below.

With Geoff Johns moving on from his long tenure as writer of JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA with the 26th issue of the current series, I’m sure many of you are wondering just what is in store for the world’s first super-team. Well, for starters, we have writer/artist Jerry Ordway stepping in for a stint, to be followed by the new regular creative team of writers Bill Willingham and Matt Sturges and artist Jesus Merino. While you may be familiar with the work of Willingham and Sturges — either on Vertigo’s FABLES or their work on SHADOWPACT and SALVATION RUN — we wanted to make sure you knew exactly what kind of ultra-detailed goodness you’d be getting from Merino, so here’s a nice helping of art from JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #29, which you’ll see on stands this summer.

Well, we made it through Monday in a relatively functional state. What do the Internets have to say?
First off, Jerome Maida of THE PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS talks up the first issue of FLASH: REBIRTH:
As presented here, Allen is both a more noble Batman and a darker, edgier version of Superman. The book devotes time to giving the reader insight as to who Barry Allen is and why we should care. The book briefly shows the impact his return is having on his friends, foes and family, while also delving a bit into his past to see what drives him to do the things he does.
• Continuing their focused BATTLE FOR THE COWL coverage, IGN talks to writer/artist Tony Daniel about the second issue of the mini-series and previews ORACLE #2.
• Comic Book Resources gives the latest issue of BOOSTER GOLD high marks.
• NEWSARAMA previews GREEN LANTERN CORPS #35.

Who is Red Robin, exactly? We’re not going to just up and spoil that here, gentle reader. But we will show you some Ramon Bachs interiors from the first issue of the new ongoing series, launching in June, written by Chris Yost. Plus a nift Francis Manapul cover. All you need to know — for now — is that this Red Robin knows a thing or two about taking the fight to the streets. Don’t take my word for it, though.
RED ROBIN #1 hits 6/10.

Monday, Monday…What more can I say? To help in your efforts to grin and get through the first day of the work week (or what’s left of it), here are a few things you might have missed over the weekend:
• The New York Times released their Graphic Books Best Seller list for the week of April 4. BATMAN: RIP, BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE, JOKER, ALL STAR SUPERMAN v2, GREEN LANTERN: SINESTRO CORPS WAR v1 and BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS all made the list in some form.
• Comic Book Resources and IGN both gave GREEN LANTERN #39 high marks. IGN also spoke to Geoff Johns about the issue, and the build-up to BLACKEST NIGHT:
IGN Comics: The Sinestro Corps War really took people by surprise and came out of leftfield for a lot of readers. Now that all eyes are on the Green Lantern franchise and Blackest Night, has it been daunting at all trying to live up to all the lofty expectations?
Johns: No. I’m just telling the story the best I can. This is a story I always planned to tell. And it’s grown organically, which is my favorite thing about it.
• Newsarama has their regularly-scheduled preview of the latest TRINITY issue. They also spoke to J.M. DeMatteis about his upcoming work on the METAL MEN co-feature, which will be appearing in the pages of the new DOOM PATROL series this summer.
• MYSPACE Comics previewed the latest issue of SUPERMAN/BATMAN.
• Also at CBR, Chris Yost talk about his upcoming work on RED ROBIN.

Last week, we showed off some interiors from the first issue of BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM. That went over well, so why not pull back the curtain a bit and let you take a look at artist Dustin Nguyen’s creative process? Here’s the cover to BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #2, plus some prelim sketches for said cover.
BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #1 hits 6/17.

Here at The Source, we like to keep our promises. And, as some of you might recall, we mentioned inked pages from POWER GIRL #1 on Friday. For whatever reason, the blogging gods were not on our side that day, so you only got to see the cover to POWER GIRL #3 and the sketch cover to #1. Now, that’s plenty, but we’d feel almost malicious if we didn’t eventually share with you those promised inked pages. What better time than a Monday, as you hunker down for a week’s worth of work, or a week’s worth of checking your home email and reading blogs? Either/or. What matters is you have some Amanda Conner goodness to help kick off your week.

Mr. Jerkface himself, Vril Dox, continues his recruiting drive to rebuild L.E.G.I.O.N. But who swiped it in the first place? Writer Tony Bedard and artist Andy Clarke bring in the surprises with this issue, also guest-starring the Omega Men. Don’t believe me? Fine. Just look at the art then. R.E.B.E.L.S #3 hits on 4/15.

Later this month, you’ve seen preview pages from the first issue of POWER GIRL #1 in the pages of select DCU titles. The new series, by writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Amanda Conner, brings Power Girl into her long-awaited solo debut. But why stop with one preview, really? You can never get too much Amanda Conner art. Since it’s Friday and we want everyone to head into the weekend with a grin on their respective faces, and because there really is never an excuse NOT to show off pages that look this good, we present you with a first-look at the cover to POWER GIRL #3, a cover sketch to POWER GIRL #1 and some lovely inked interiors from the first issue. Now, click away, and enjoy your two days of freedom. If you do that sort of thing.

Here at The Source, one of our goals is to bring you, the reader, behind the scenes and straight into the creative process. With that in mind, here’s a glimpse at the preliminary designs for Batwoman, from the desk of the amazingly talented J.H. Williams. Now, we’ve seen our share of interior sneak peeks for Batwoman’s upcoming stint in DETECTIVE COMICS, but this is a first look at the steps taken to bring Batwoman to the finished page. We dare you not to click.
DETECTIVE COMICS #854, from Williams and writer Greg Rucka, hits in June. Oh, and here’s the cover for July’s DETECTIVE #855…
