What’s better than five issues of FLASH: REBIRTH? How about six?
So, yes, to spell it out, FLASH: REBIRTH, the hugely popular mini-series from writer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver has been extended from five to six issues.
In issue #5, which will be solicited in the June Previews, the greatest threat to face the Flash Family in decades stands revealed. Plus, a new hero will take on an older speedster’s role. And Barry Allen faces having to once again sacrifice his life to save all that he holds dear.
Watch for the solicitation of THE FLASH: REBIRTH #5 in the June Previews. This issue is scheduled to arrive in stores on August 26.

THANK YOU. Thank you very much, this made my day. I was always afraid that five issues was a bit too quick to tell Barry’s story.
this just SCREAMS poor planning. maybe i’m wrong and this will be an AWESOME Flash story. Geoff Johns consistantly delivers the best stories out there, but the jump from a 5 issue series to a 6 issue one seems a little off. especially in a story that is already 2 issues deep.
This is more of a mess than a good thing.
I’m fairly sure this is because Johns just couldn’t fit his story into 5 issues, so they gave him a 6th so he can comfortably fit everything in, as opposed to just tacking on an extra issue for more money or something.
I just always thought it was 6 issues. I was bummed to find out it was 5. So now I’m just back to satisfied.
new Johnny Quick?
That’s what i was thinking. Well, that or new Max Mercury
The perfect Green Lantern will be Sam Witwer from Smallville. I know you must be thinking that I am crazy but just look at him. He has the face and build for the role. He is in about his late 20s or early 30s which makes him even more perfect for the part. He has acting experience so its not like another Brandon Routh incident will reoccur. If not him then I guess Chris Pine is the best rumored choice, but he is not a better one than Sam Witwer. If Pine was given the role he would be paid a ridiculous amount of money and everyone will view him as Captain Kirk, not Green Lantern. Pine also looks nothing like the Green Lantern…
I have many more reasons why he should play the Green Lantern. I am so confident in this that I have even written a petition. Here’s the link, read it and sign before you leave, I’m sure you will agree with me:

More of Johns and Van Sciver is never a bad thing.
Poor Planning huh?….I kind of remember a certain mini series being 4 issues….then became 80 issues….you know…The Transformers! If its a good story…they add issues.
Sounds good to me, dont let the book get crammed into 5 issues, allow for the 6th to breath more room for the series. More Flash, the better.
This is a problem, how?
If it’s such a mess or you have other issues with it, you know what to do. Or not do.
As for me, I’m happy that another issue has been added.
And, DC: feel free to add MORE if that’s what’s needed.
Jeez.
i heard van sciver say it was 6 issues on a word balloon last year so this makes me even more happy, i believe in the team and am not worried at all, i wonder what issue we will see wally’s new costume?
[...] FLASH: REBIRTH BUMPED UP TO SIX ISSUES [...]
[...] Comics announced yesterday on The Source blog that Flash: Rebirth by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver will run six issues now, [...]

[...] The Source announced last night that the series — chronicling the return of the Silver Age Flash after about 23 years of martyrdom following the Crisis on Infinite Earths — will go from five issues to six. Currently, the series is dealing with the implications of Barry’s return, as well as the creation of a new Black Flash. [...]
In this case more = better.
I remember there being some confusion back when this was first announced as to whether it was 5 or 6 issues. First it as 6, then it was 5, now it’s 6 again.
I guess the next question is pagecount…
