It’s time to CRY FOR JUSTICE

Batman and Martian Manhunter are gone. But these aren’t the first heroes to fall prey to the villains populating the DCU. And, not surprisingly, some heroes are tired of reacting, and instead want to take the battle to the bad guys themselves. The new team of Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Atom, Shazam, Congorilla and Starman unite in JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRY FOR JUSTICE, a six-issue mini-series from writer James Robinson and rising star artist Mauro Cascioli.

You’ve seen the covers and a few sneak peeks at the interiors, but here we have a full, five-page preview to whet your appetite. JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRY FOR JUSTICE #1 hits 7/1.

I can’t decide whether I like the art or not… it reminds me of old Veitch/Alcala Swamp Thing (at least the shading).

Anyways, yes, YES. Will be picking this up. Sounds like an awesome lineup (Hal, Ollie, Kara, Shazam).

Beutiful. Ah, can’t believe that League finally will be good.

This sounds like what the JLA should be in terms of Story telling. Looking Forward To This

This looks excellent. The art is beautiful, the dialogue flows naturally and is fun to read, and the concept is WELL overdue. This seems like a satisfying replacement for what I had hoped Chuck Dixon’s Outsiders was to become. Too bad it’s a miniseries. I hope it does well enough to turn into an ongoing! Seriously looking forward to this!

    Oh Boy.

Damn you, DC, and your AWFUL TEASING of this miniseries that I’m dying to have and it won’t be released for ANOTHER MONTH!!

Where’s Rip Hunter when you need him…

  8. Brendan McGinley says on :

    That is lush art.

    looks fantastic.

THIS, a top-tier title, is what the Justice League should be. McDuffie’s version, with the bleeped out swear words and references to sex, was the Justice League as New Avengers. The League was never meant to be that type of title.
Yet here, even with Hal Jordan crying out for justice, there is a sense of honor in his bearing. No four letter words needed, no Hawkgirl hitting the sheets with Roy. Just heroes trying to fight the good fight in a very dark world. Bravo, DC, for reclaiming your flagship property.

(And the fanboy in me thanks you immensely for utilizing Freddy Freeman and Ray Palmer.)

Is Batwoman now officially off of the team? Maybe that is a good thing if she has a major new arc starting in Detective, but this was a great chance for her to be seen as part of the bigger DCU.

    Hot Damn. This looks WONDERFUL!

  13. DRUMCORE says on :

This really looks great, I’m really looking forward to seeing Hal & co knockin some supervillain heads.

  14. All-New says on :

The art does look rather nice. I’m not sure about the line-up though…

I find it funny that Hal is saying how he and other heroes are in the shadow of Clark, Diana, and Bruce when his book probably sells better than each of theirs and has a summer event where he’s the main character coming up. :P

  15. kauffinbauchser says on :

Well I’m sold. Quit creating new stuff DC I’m running out of money. Wait for me to catch up.

  16. sanderjm says on :

Yes! This is what is needed in the DCU right now. Real human reactions to shocking events…less superhero and more humanity will do the DCU some good right now.

  17. choob says on :

Looks amazing. I’ve loved Mauro’s work since “Trials of Shazam” but the only problem I have is with Hal calling Superman “Kal”, Hal has always called Supes “Clark”… but I love that Freddy (Shazam) is going to be part of this!

I enjoy very much this new concept, and I really hope an ongoing in this direction after that.
A creative -team of James Robinson and Bill Sienkiewicz would be just great…involving other characters like AnimalMan, Mon-El or Black Orchid…

    And,
it may sound a little off-topic but it is not :
in ‘Secret Warriors’ issue 2, Stephano Caselli draw his Skrulls-agents of HYDRA like Hal Jordan ( yes, all 3 )…This guy is maybe digging for an exclusive with DC ?
He would be perfect for GL, GL Corps but also maybe the new JL actually ….?

  19. EmeraldArcher says on :

So for some reason he depicted everyone in their current uniforms with the exception of Green Arrow and Black Canary?!?
Where was the editor on this? Somehow I don’t think it would have passed muster to have Batman with the yellow oval and blue grey outfit?

Should have been caught and fixed prior to going to press…sloppy!
