Hands down, this is the most I have looked forward to a comic book since I started reading comics in 1992. Thanks for the Superboy teases on the blog, and thanks to Geoff and Francis for bringing him back in spectacular fashion!!

I’m more excited about the Starman back-up in this book but I’m not sure it’ll be enough to get me to pick this up.

I bet one of the “What did Superman do?” on Superboy’s list is going to be “He died”

  5. Ricardo says on :

Pity it is a lame character. Wish he had finished his awesome run with Jim Shooter at Legion of Super-Heroes.

oh my, classic Legion by Francis Manapul. I think I might get drool on my laptop. I can leave connor though

Lame character??? And while I did enjoy Shooter and Manapul’s run on Legion, Shooter didn’t even finish the run. We got a very special “Justin Thyme” written issue to finish the run.

If Manapul had to go anywhere, I am extremely happy it is with the Kid of Steel. My only wish for this series is that Johns remembers Superboy was around before the Teen Titans. Let’s get some appearances from Roxy Leech! Or the Scavenger! And we had damn well better get some sort of pathos from the Kid over the death of Dubbilex. Dubbilex was more of a father figure to Superboy than Superman or anyone else.

I cannot stress enough how happy this has made me. :)

Good stuff. Geoff Johns was money in the bank with Teen Titans, so I think he’s a great choice to write Superboy. Although I’m not thrilled with the way he wrote the Legion, I’ll cut him some slack and see what he can do with them in their newest incarnation.

I cannot wait for this! It looks awesome. Any chance we could get a desktop version of that last page?

The art for this book is very exciting. I loved Francis work on Superman/Batman. Too bad that was only a 2 issue arc though.

Man, I don’t get all the Conner hate. Really looking forward to this. :D

Wow. Just … wow. Love the pic (finally - I don’t think such has appeared in current continuity, unless maybe in a preview cover for Superman: Secret Origin) of Clark/”Superboy” and the classic Legion - in costume … and the first panel of the third “page” makes me anxious to see what Johns does with Secret Origin - is that meant to be “an adventure of Superman when he was a boy”? - in costume? - in the (guess it would still be the) 20th c.? Wow!

I might have some problems with the way DC has treated the Legion through the years, but nothing short of an act of God could keep me away from this. - The Prof

PS: Backlash99 - I just made myself a desktop version of Clark and the LSH.

where is karate kid? how bout bringin em back from the swan era in his old orange outfit? AND DON’T KILL Mon-El! i find the 3 original legion characters dull is old soap. ulra boy, ferro lad, karate kid, Mon-El, Timber Wolf, invisible kid as leader. back to basics legion.
lets go, people. gimme some’a that old legion magic!
    Mike Murdock, hipster incarnate

  17. Ricardo says on :

It’s not a Conner hate: it’s just he is absolutely irrelevant to me. More like a boring character. And Shooter couldn’t finish his run, as widely reported, so don’t blame it on him.

You guys need to realize that this is Conner’s comic and that Legion will have a small portion of the comic. I for one hate DC for making me wait another month!

  20. bohemiacomicsreader says on :

I’m intrigued to see where this goes, I’m down for the first arc at least.
