By Alex Segura

The new Red Robin continues to scour the globe in search of clues that will help him determine the final fate of Bruce Wayne, in the pages of the new hit series from writer Chris Yost and artist Ramon Bachs. But Red Robin’s search might get a little complicated with the League of Assassins after him, don’t you think? What does Ra’s al Ghul want with Red Robin? Why are members of the League of Assassins being targeted for death? And what happened to the life Red Robin left behind? Spoiler guest-stars in the second chapter of the four-part “The Grail” story arc. Scroll down a bit for a few pages from the second issue.

RED ROBIN #2 hits on 7/8.

Aargh…I had seen the black/white preview “Reb Robin on a motorcycle” pages for Issue one a while back…but they just didn’t do it for me. Then, I saw the color scans of the Tim/Damian/Dick pages…and I started salivating. (Tragically, the salivating didn’t occur until the pre-order date for issue two had come and gone). However, with Issue Three, baby, Red Robin will be in my happy hands on a monthly basis!

Looks like Tim will be handling the Wayne Industries stuff…at least until Hush escapes in Streets of Gotham/Gotham City Sirens.

Despite the cover, why do I get the fight Tim won’t be fighting Spoiler, at all? It’s like that last cover to Superman: New Krypton …why was Hal about to punch Kal?

Anyways, this looks great, I’m loving Red Robin. In fact, here’s my ranking of the Bats relaunch:

    1. Batman & Robin
    2. Detective
    3. Red Robin
    4. Streets of Gotham
    5. Gotham City Sirens
    6. Outsiders
    7. Batman*

*b/c Judd W. is a bit crap. At least that last issue was.

  8. braddock says on :

Why don’t you guys add a “Red Robin created by Waid & Ross” to the credits? If Denny and Quesada got one for Azrael mini (without JP Valley under the mask), shouldn’t Alex and Mark get one for RR, even though it’s Tim underneath?
