Why not keep a good thing going? The first two teases we gave you in relation to the new BATGIRL series garnered a huge response. Was it Barbara Gordon? Cassandra Cain? A new Batgirl? We’re not telling. Yet. But we will unveil another lovely Phil Noto cover, though.
BATGIRL #1, written by Bryan Q. Miller with art from Lee Garbett, hits 8/19.

looks a little bit like Huntress!
blue eyes, rules out cassandra. Keeps in Barbara (I thought her eyes were green but checked the oracle mini, Blue as the sky) and maybe spoiler and flamebird (bette).
You’ve played a good game DC, I’m still baffled despite my wish it was Babs.
I agree. The eyes are a give away. I’m sure it’s the Huntress now. We will have to see..
These eyes are purple. Oracle’s are green. Maybe they got the wrong color in the mini.
Babs eyes are blue : http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XKZzywxP6P4/SXaH8RoVYAI/AAAAAAAAEVA/97CnLrFUiVM/s320/Oracle2.jpg
My best bet is that Misfit is the new Batgirl. She’s pretty much Barb’s adopted daughter, she’s homeless, the Birds of Prey are disbanded, the new Batgirl is young looking … it’s got to be her. But that would make the first Batman family member with a super power.
I think it’s Stephanie. Nice art!
I think it’s Wendy (Calculator’s daughter)

you might be right Jose. After all they keep colouring Brainiac 5’s eyes purple in Legion of 3 Worlds when they are green. You think someone would catch things like that.
It’s obviously Stephanie, which is too bad because I really love Cassandra. Stephanie’s definitely due for SOMETHING, but…
i still say that it is Huntress. after all, didn’t Huntress try to assume the mantle of Batgirl at the beginning of “No Man’s Land”? and Bruce was there to stop her. maybe now that Bruce is gone, she’s trying for it again.
I had at first thought it would be Steph, but Huntress is looking somewhat more possible. Admittedly, the brownish eyebrows make things a little odd, but that could either be too much shade for Steph’s or too much light for Helena changing the appearance a little. But Helena’s well past being a Bat ‘girl,’ while the Batwoman title is obviously taken.
As long as it isn’t Bette Kane (Flamebird), whose name being dropped in Detective Comics made me worry… nothing against her, but bringing back a Batwoman and a Batgirl character with the same names as the originals brought in around the Seduction of the Innocent time seems a little messed up. I like this Batwoman as a character, but if Bette becomes Batgirl, it seems like tokenism rather than constructive choices, and also suggests there was no worth in having her take up a non-Bat identity post-crisis.
Still, this looks pretty cool… can’t wait to find out who’s under that mask!
Doubt it is the Huntress. She’s more interesting in her own way with all her anger. Besides, her methods aren’t always Batman Family approved. Why should she change her MO now?
It’s Steph. Or Michelle Pfeiffer
I think it’s Steph too. Nice set of covers so far.
Looks like Steph. Blue eyes.
Cass’s eyes are dark. Babs has green eyes. Anyone know what Misfit’s eye color is?
I’m still hoping there’s gonna be more than one Batgirl. I’d hate to see Cass go. She cemented her place in the Batman family. She deserves to be around performing SOME role.
HELL! FART! DAMN! CLEARLY this confirms that our new “batgirl” is none other than Stephanie Brown, aka “the Spoiler.” What a joke. All this editorial direction is really doing is further SPOILING Cassie Cain. On the bottom of Stephanie’s trading card it reads “She’ll do anything to prove she’s ready. And that alone proves she isn’t.” Barbara’s better in the chair, ’cause she’s more interesting that way. Cassie’s better in the tights, ’cause she’s more interesting that way and Stephanie’s better in the ground, ’cause she’s NOT interesting any other way. I cry foul Dan Didio, shame on you for catering to BS internet groups that raised a stink because Stephanie didn’t get a tribute in the batcave for her 2 weeks as Robin. Clearly (and I hope you learn this lesson again) there was a reason she wasn’t remembered.
The more i see hints on Batgirl #1 i think it has something to do with Barbara Gordon, Vicky Vale and less with Stephanie or Cassandra. Look at Oracle’s last issue and the Gotham Gazette Batman Alive special. DC has put clues on where to turn regarding Batgirl there.
Stephanie Brown from PS 139 in Brooklyn!
Her namesake, any way.
Look close those eyebrows, people. Our girl here is a blonde!
Come on, Steph!
Be Batgirl, help Dick a little and kick Damian’s ass for me!!
I agree, I think it’s Stephanie at this point. I find that unsettling. I hope that Barbara is at least going to be the brains behind the operation.

Since when does Stephanie Brown have purple eyes and oriental skin color?
There are multiple Batgirls.
Triplicate girl has brown hair and purple eyes, just saying.
That looks like Stephanie to me.
Thx 4 the preview!
It’s totally Jason Todd in drag, guys.
He’s crazy enough to go get purple contacts and fake eyelashes.
it’s Sarah Palin! THIS is why she stepped down as governor!!
This does not help at all. This Batgirl might have worn a contact lens for all we know.
Holy crap you guys aren’t seriously considering making Barbara Gordon BatGIRL are you?
She’s in her 30’s, first of all. Oracle is the most unique creation in superhero comics since the invention of Superman, and this isn’t as big but she’s the only disabled person in DC comics. Also, Babsgirl isn’t that interesting. Oracle is freaking AMAZING.

Come quickly August.
@ScottyQuick
In current DCU continuity Babs is around the same age as Dick Grayson and round about 13 years younger than Bruce Wayne.
Babs as BATGIRL again, that would be a great story I want to read!
