It’s a preview Monday! As we make any and all last-minute preparations for San Diego, we’ve got a nice collection of previews for you today.
Next up is LAST DAYS OF ANIMAL MAN #3, from writer Gerry Conway and artist Chris Batista. And you don’t need to take it from me – scroll down and see for yourself – but it’s clear Batista is knocking it out of the park with this mini, spotlighting a possible future for Buddy Baker, aka Animal Man.
And what happens when the League of Titans enters the picture? Buddy Baker’s slowly losing his marbles, but can he rely on a little help from his friends? Or is it just time to curl up and call it a life? Check out some pages to see.
THE LAST DAYS OF ANIMAL MAN #3 hits 7/29.

Chris is doing a fine job, yes, but what’s next for Merry Gerry?
I’m pretty upset that this book is working off the idea that Buddy cheated on Ellen with Starfire. Buddy and Ellen have such a strong relationship, and Buddy’s way too smart to have ruined it like that.
Very sad.

Man I just love future era DCU tales like these!
Question: anyone else here under the impression that this eras Power Girl is actually Kara Zor-El/Linda Lang and not E-2 Kara Zor-L/Karen Starr? :/
This is one of the best comics DC publish today. Conway & Batista should be regulars and Animal Man should be ongoing.
The only complain I have to the the character handle is that we never know what happen to the “black hair” animal man and probably we never see again the “life power church” of Maxine Baker…
Is Flash…black?

I think this series follows the continuity of the character. I don’t think Buddy is stating that he and Starfire actually had an extra-marital affair. During the 52 they grew pretty close and to me he’s just wondering if anything would have happened between them if they never made it home. But in the very next panel Buddy dismisses it and reaffirms his love for his family. As this story is about someone as the “end of his life,” I think his reflection is appropriate.
Batista is a great artist and I first noticed him while reading 52. Along with Brian Bolland’s covers, this is a great series.
