The moment we’ve all been waiting for is close at hand. The superstar team of writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank reunite to present the modern origin of the Man of Steel, and it all starts with a gigantic 48-[age first issue. Chronicling Clark Kent's journey from Smallville to Metropolis, you'll experience the beginnings of some of comics' most beloved characters, including Lex Luthor, the Legion of Super-Heroes, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and more. And if you were a fan of Johns' deft handling of Green Lantern's origin back in GREEN LANTERN: SECRET ORIGIN, you know that this isn't just a recap -- but also a sign of things to come.
SUPERMAN: SECRET ORIGIN #1 hits 9/23.

Wow, that’s one pretty book. Not so sure about the Lana caught in a Tornado Smallville homage, but it doesn’t look like like a straight retelling of either the TV show or previous versions of the story, so I’m on board.
If Gary Franks’ crazy eyes suit anyone its lex. Still think Kal looks like a 40 year old woman in a kids body.
This is looking good for another retelling og Superman’s Origin. I’m sold.
from the preview I just may have to pick this one up
If anyone can give us a definitive origin of Superman, it’s Geoff Johns. The Man of Steel’s history is in good hands.

LORDY those look awesome!!!
Fantastic!!! Frank really was born to draw Superman. I really can“t wait to read it.Will be awesome.
This looks amazing. Franks art reminds me (OMG…this is almost sacreligious to say, and I know I’m going to get blasted) …his work reminds me of the great George Perez. I’m really looking forward to the 48-Page Giant. I remember those books back in the day.
Man oh man I’m sure liking what we’ve got here so far ah!
And whether it be depicting PAD’s Linda Danvers Supergirl or Superman and Kara Zor-El/Supergirl proper Gary Frank is just the master of drawing all things Supermanfamily!
Oh, and please Geoff have Gary give us a flash back on Krypton where Kal is seen being baby sat by Kara dude!
I can’t wait!
I like to think Mark Waid wrote the definitive Superman origin. Still, while I don’t have any particular problem with Johns writing this, I’m thoroughly sick of Gary Frank — if I want to see Christopher Reeve’s face on Superman I’ll watch the highly overrated movie. Pass.

i am nervous… theres news that supermans kryptonite origin was lost… pls… dc i want superman to be in DC forever…
Harvinotaku - I don’t understand your question. Do you mean Superman’s ‘Kryptonian origin’ - that he’s from the planet Krypton? Or, do you mean that there was so much kryptonite in Smallville, that this is why his powers didn’t show/develop right away, because all the kryptonite was dampening his powers/abilities?

Love Frank, Johns and Smallville so I’m down for this. Kudos, DC.
