By Alex Segura
Geoff Johns and superstar artist Francis Manapul continue to tell the tale of the revived Conner Kent, as Superboy settles back into life in Smallville. But all is not well in Superman’s hometown. And while Conner reunites with Wonder Girl to discuss their future, Lex Luthor and Brainiac form a partnership that will put the entire DCU at risk.
Meanwhile, in the Legion of Super-Heroes co-feature, co-writers Geoff Johns and Michael Shoemaker team with artist Clayton Henry to spotlight the heroes of the 31st century, as Lightning Lad travels to the prison planet of Takron-Galtos to confront his brother, Lightning Lord, and to learn an unexpected family secret that could set in motion a war to end all wars. Yeah, that big.

Where’d Garth’s tattoo go?
I’m really enjoying this title. I’m hoping that the Legion will get their own title again.
looks good. Again the art is different but in a good way
Why not invert things up? Johns and Manapul on Legion and Shoemaker and Henry on Superboy Clone as backup? That would be so much better and logical…
This looks so good! I’m torn between which cover I’ll buy…I might have to buy both.
I really enjoy the humanization of Conner. It’s not all about fighting the bad guys; this little peak into his life - getting ready for a date with…is it Kat and Wonder Girl shows up? Can a “Superboy” juggle dating two girls? haha
This book has so a lot going on, just with Superboy, but having the Legion back-up - it’s exceeded what I had expected.
yea… i agree with @meisterlegion.
Defining Braniac as world destroyer and alien colector is quite intresthing…i can’t wait to see them related to new kripton saga or blackest night (if it is)…
furthermore… i wonder which one deadlier or more dangerous, Starro or Braniac…
You would think that after 50 years of publication Rokk would know Mekt was a single.
I have to say, the potential meeting of estranged brothers is so much more interesting than Kons love life. Well, unless we get another rehashing of the lightning beast story.
Whose in the tube? Did Lex make another Conner? Is that what was eluded to on omen & Origins when it said that Conner would be a big part of blackest night & would either help or harm Brainac & Luther???? I’m really liking this comic right now, they need to bring the Adventure into this series & they need Conner to “suit up” & get a Hero Costume insead of the Jeans & T-Shirt look
Aargh, I was hoping that the final issue of “Legion of 3 Worlds” would be a Squadron Supreme Vol. 1 #12 house-cleaning for The Legion. Three Legions made one through bloodletting, gore, and betrayal.
Dan Didio and Geoff Johns, it’s not too late to make it happen.
On a less violent note, I love it that Jan Arrah is teaching Conner Chemistry 101. Just a brilliant bit of scripting to weave in detail like that.
On a related note to my previous post…If you want a smaller cast, Mr. Didio, get Chris Yost to script a Legion title. He’s got a proven track record of superhero mass murder.
Oh, and please, please, please bring some sex appeal back to Saturn Girl’s appearance. (Um, you know it’s bad when a gay male is writing such a sentiment)
[...] could ramble on about it, or you could check out the preview now, courtesy of DC Universe: The Source. And then the issue will arrive on stands this coming week on September 9, [...]
Clayton, I’m fine with Saturn Girl getting her sex back only when Rokk gets the bustier back!
I think I missed first issue but I’m certainly buying from the second issue. It is cool a double feature book with the Legion and a rebirthed Conner Kent.
[...] Adventure Comics #2 DC US$3.99 Artwork and Covers by Francis Manapul. Preview at DC Universe: The Source [...]
the first comics, that i collected for my self, were superboy’s comics back in the 90’s… the final night tie in and his first encounter with match, to be exact… so i’m glad to be able to catch him in a series again…
Damn I loved #0 and 1 so I’m REALLY looking forward to getting this issue to boot, heh!
I wish they’d stay on past #6, I’m very excited for this title every month!
This looks really good, glad to see the O&O finally coming into play. Thanks DC.
