Well, you will, dear Source readers. All in due time. But first, a few things:
Because of the holiday, “blogging will be light” today. Meaning, this is basically it. Also, I’m on vacation. Heck, I might be on the beach as you read this. But fear not — thanks to great advances in blogging technology, it’ll be like I never left. You’ll get your regular dose of Source goodness at the usual times. But please, try to miss me.
Oh, right. I promised the cover to ADVENTURE COMICS #5. Well, here it is. See you in a week.

Finally, Prime dies, or at least, i hope he does.
Also did Alex Luthor have a thing for Prime cos that’s the image im getting from this.
Its been a whole year since a crisis homage. I knew we were due
The return of Alexander Luthor of Earth-3…
I haven’t seen that guy since Joker killed him… lol
oh my god thats Alex Luthor and he’s all boney. This looks cool. Just hope the interior art isn’t by ordway or it will look like its from 1972.
Ordway’s zombie is quite pathetic. Not enough of grossness.
Can it be true?
Has he been killed to death?
Superboy Prime would think it was so stupid that he was dead…and so would I. He’s so beautifully peurile and petulant. An adolescent behind the wheel of 69′ Chevelle Super Sport, careering for oblivion with the accelerator floored.
But kitten, if you live, those metallic leg and arm warmers, they must go.
This is HILLARIOUS…a totally spoof on the Crisis on Infinite Earths cover where Superman is holding a dead Supergirl; only here Supergirl is Superboy-Prime. I totally get it. I seriously don’t think the cover has anything at all to do with the actually story; which is fine.
I like this cover better than the one where he’s flying on the cover - I assume flying from Earth-Prime to Earth-0 (New Earth).
BL zombie is mostly “smart” zombie, true?!
looking at this teaser… i wonder, are Alex zombie is going to be such “genius” zombie as he was before or just another “ordinary” BL zombie like others.
furthermore, i’m curious how superboy-prime related to BN… lol!
Uhmmm…. I think some of you fail to realize that if a black lantern is holding the DEAD body of Superboy Prime… Superboy Prime is just about ready to become a Black Lantern. Given that Geoff Johns is writing Blackest Night and Adventure Comics, and he has professed that he loves the character, I think this won’t be the last we see of Superboy Prime.
Also, this is a prediction, but given that Johns is a retcon king, and there has been a huge outcry over the killing of so many beloved characters along with an influx of resurrections, I have a feeling that at the end of Blackest Night, a lot of the Dead characters will be permanently alive. Perhaps a White Lantern will emerge and light the darkest hour. Like the Matrix of Leadership.
either turn prime, on the side of justice again, or kill’em, or give him his own superboy adventures on earth prime… re teach him what a hero is by gaining his powers the long, hard way, dealing with regular villians that can whip him due to being powered down…. and legionaires of earth prime messin’ with the time stream leaving kryptonite samples in the dirt thoughout the u.s. so no matter where prime is, whilst in the states, he is far from ful powered… then give him a regular 9-5 job, so he can afford to continue buying comics and keeping up with the dcu…
Should be interesting to see how this plays out. Guess Alex must have fixed his finger from when it got blown off.
Well done !!! It was ridiculous this idiotic thing of Superboy Prime… I just hate this ridiculous thing of ressurected everyone who dies in the first Crisis and ignore for completly everything that happens… I loved the Zero Hour… and all that happens after that… but, what happens now its just a desrespct ton the old readers… I want Jim Corrigan as Spectre, Hal Jordan as Parallax which was one of the coolest vilains of all time… the only ressurection acceptable it was the Green Arrow/Ollie Queen… and I believe that Guy Gardner as Magog it would be more cool then this Reid pell… Im with Alex Ross… Alan Scott its the unique and best Green Lantern of all times…
Why do DC still use Ordway he is so old-fashioned. Yes his Infinity Inc was great and his JSI Earth 2 Annual but that was a nostalgia thing. This is a creepy zombie thing. No cutesy 1972 art is allowed
Maybe BN will have a small cross over in Adventure Comics. Well I certainly think the cover is interesting as a tribute to the first crisis and to the old school of comics.
wildclaw: I personally think every artist style is welcomed in comics regardless of it supposedly ‘not being contemporary’ at the end of the day myself.
Damn I think THIS is a much fitting take on COIE #7 cover then the original (I’ll never forgive you for allowing DC to kill off my all time fave Supergirl and have it glorified on the cover, Marv Wolveman!) seriously can’t wait to get my copy of this and I really can’t wait to see the reunion between Alex and Prime as well as what BL Alex might try since his first stint to bring back the ORIGINAL multiverse and his so called ‘perfect Earth’ didn’t go as to plan.
I’d rather see Ordway’s work than quite a few other artists’ stuff. Yes, it’s not gross. BN isn’t really about gross, it’s about actual horror. (And I’ve always found Alex Luthor creepy enough all by himself, thanks.)
So sick of SB:Prime, please spare us for at least 5 years with another appearance by him.
WOW NICE!
Great cover, thanks DC.
