By Alex Segura
Writer Fabian Nicieza and artist J. Calafiore present a tale of a murdered priest. A desecrated grave marker. A kidnapped child. A secret key. A mystery whose solution could upset the world order. For Batman and Robin to stop the rampage of a zealot named Amon, the Sixth Sinner, they first have to halt a deadlier foe intent on making sure Amon succeeds. To end the killer’s mad scheme, Batman faces Azrael, Death’s Dark Knight. “The Eighth Deadly Sin” continues in DETECTIVE COMICS ANNUAL #11 and sets the stage for this month’s premiere issue of the AZRAEL ongoing series. Check out the first four pages below.

It’s funny that on the cover it says guest starring Robin. Isn’t Robin part of all Bat related books? Whats next guest starring Alfred and Commisioner Gordon
You know Damian, he demands his name be on the cover too.
Not all. He’s not shown up in Detective Comics.
Robin has had very little involvement in the Batman title.
There is a “Batman and Robin” tile and a “Batman” title. One would conclude that Robin might be considered a guest star if he’s not in the title and has a larger role than just running into batman in the cave. I think if the book had Gordon side-by-side with Dick through out the issue, it would be fitting to have him mentioned on the cover, especially if he was in the title of another book like Robin is. They did the same thing with Green Arrow and Black Canary before they blended the titles together.
I have this feeling that they are just waiting to pull the trigger on a Robin title with Damien at the Centre. Probably after Morrison’s run is complete and they but the “Batman and Robin” title to bed.
what’s with the price hike on these annuals? There better be tons of extra pages because an extra dollar on top of the already 4 dollar book for an “annual” title just seems frivolous. I’ll still be buying this of course and maybe the solicits for this are wrong with regards to pricing.
