By Alex Segura

Not long ago, we gave you a quick look at the first issue of writer James Robinson and artist Mark Bagley’s upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA run. But why stop there? With the issue hitting stands tomorrow, we thought a few more pages were worth checking out. Prepare to be surprised.

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #38 hits tomorrow.

    Who’s this blue guy I haven’t seen him before. Way to kick it all off Bagley and Robinson with a completely fresh look

    I called this on ComicBloc. I don’t mind death, but DC has to be careful it doesn’t kill off too many characters. The Justice League roster is looking pretty sad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Justice_League_members

    hey wildclaw :)

    …Blue Jay is a relatively C-lister hero. He made several appearances in the Justice League Europe book. He seems to pop-up everytime there is a new JLA…almost a harbinger that fore-shadows a new team. It appears though that this will be the last time he does that since he’s a dead birdie now.

    thanx Meisterlegion I thought I was an authority on DC but then theres always one or two you miss. Thanx.

    another note to Wildclaw, you may not have heard of ol’ Blue Jay because his circumstances aren’t like most DC heroes. He comes from an Earth(Earth-8 if the numberings still hold)called “Angor” that was basically DC’s analog to the Marvel universe. Wayyyy back when, before the first Crisis, Blue Jay and two other heroes from Angor (Wandjina and Silver Sorcerer) joined the Justice League. They are analogs of Yellowjacket/Ant-Man, Thor, and Scarlet Witch(respectively) and aren’t really used that often. If you’ve heard of the Extremists(also not used way too often), they are the triumphant bad guys from Angor.

    Oh look! James Robinson is killing off another of DC’s minority characters. Wonderful.

    Really not the best way to get me interested in his JLA run.

    @Lex- Ditto.

  12. Ricardo says on :

    Is anyone making an account of which JLI is still alive? From how DC mistreat them, we could well have a Black Lantern JLI book featuring ALL JLIs ever!

    This looks really good! I was happy to see Blue Jay and company turn up in JLI in the 90’s–which was well after their first appearance in Justice League of America no. 87. Sorry to see that he bites the dust, but whatever…
