In the way only a title like AMBUSH BUG can, the series jumps forward to issue #7 on 10/28. But wait, what about #6, you ask? Worry not, dear reader. Writer/artist Keith Giffen will explain all. Or maybe he won’t. You’ll just have to pick up the issue next week to see — and after all this build-up, how could you miss it?
Here’s the previously-unrevealed cover to AMBUSH BUG #7. Enjoy.

Awesome, looking forward to picking it up.
If they ever do a #6 based on Final Crisis, I think it would be fun to have it in 3-D like Superman Beyond.
I’m starting the campaign now, Ambush Bug for #1 comic of the month. Now force 100,000 of your friends (including fake web friends) to pick up the book!
Boo!!!
What the hell happened to the awesome Darwyn Cooke Batman slipping on a banana peel cover? You couldn’t have reused that cover?
patrick:
Examine the cover carefully and look to see what Ambush Bug is standing on. I think that will answer your question.
Cut the crap.
What happened to #6?
Whose ox got gored?
Maybe they’ll have the Darwyn Cooke cover as a variant.
This should have a “One Year Later” logo on the cover.
This… must… be… monthly….
Quentin Tarantino always gets asked “What was in the Briefcase in Pulp finction?” And he explains, “The thing that you think it is is probably MUCH better than anything I could think up, so whatever YOU think it is, that’s what’s in the briefcase.”
So whatever crazy conspiracy reason you’ve thought up for why #6 got shelved is probably FAR more entertaining than the real reason, so why would they ever tell the real reason? The Clever Theories have made this book a must-have.
Start a postcard campaign to get issue 6 included in the trade if you like.
They DID use the Darwyn Cooke Batman slipping on a banana peel cover. Zoom in on this cover, and look at what Ambush Bug is standing on!
That must be the secret behind the missing issue 6. Batman didn’t like being laughed at, so he gathered all the copies from the printer, and decided to torch them all (and Ambush Bug too). He’s got a plan for every contingency!
RockinRich,
I believe that “what happened” to #6 was that it became such a joke and there was such a gap between them that it became #7. I mean, the issue number on the top right is (7 of 6), so I figure we’re getting it all… right?
