Looks good, but too bad one of these guys is already dead.
[...] Comics’ The Source has an awesome 5 page preview of JSA All-Stars #1! Notice the Action Comics #1 homage with Power Girl on page 1 Freddie E. [...]
Hey, aren’t “cyborgs” supposed to be humans augmented with robotic parts? Like, uh, DC’s own superhero called “Cyborg”? I think Sturges meant to use “androids”…at least, I hope he did. That’s the way I’ve read it in the hundreds of other comic books in which the heroes realize they can destroy their opponents when they discover that the bad guys are only machines, not living beings.
LOL!! Communist bad guys!
OK DC, you’ve sold me on this.

So since Damage died in Blackest Night #4, how is it that he’s in the All-Stars 2 months later?
The character roll call blips are a bit cheesy…wonder if that will be the tone of the All-Star book?
I was on the fence on this one, but I think I will add it to my 2010 pull list.
@ryaztek - I’ve always liked the roll-call character close-ups…I like it especially when it’s on the cover.
while i enjoy the art… i don’t know if i’m going to like the story…yet. I certainly questioning why magog stay in JSA, even further he seem to lead them in the field? and yes… off course, why damage still alive? and several other “minor” question… but in short, i think the book deserve a chance anyway.
Well, we don’t know WHEN this book is happening regardless of Blackest Night. Just because it comes out during Blackest night doesn’t mean the stories are happening at the same time. It could be happening after or before. Just have to wait and see.
I just dropped the main JSA book. I like the characters but the neither Willingham or Sturges have ever impressed me on a super hero book. Considering how quickly they managed to make JSA uninteresting and how Sturges, single handedly, killed BLUE BEETLE for me I think I may avoid this one too. Then again, I really love some of these characters…
I thought DC might pull a switch-a-roo and have Damage be Atom-Smasher… Guess not.
I think I like Sturges a lot more than Willingham, because I really enjoyed that preview, and I really enjoyed his Blue Beetle.
So I guess I’ll be dropping JSA proper and picking this up. I like the humor, but I also want serious moral and emotional trials, so I’ll drop it if it doesn’t deliver.

I Don’t think the aftermath of Blackest Night will be felt until April because that is one month after it ends.
I like this better than the last year of Geoff Johns morose JSA.
[...] fortunately, you don’t have to. Thanks to DC Universe: The Source, you can get a five page preview of the series right now. Check it out [...]
@Ricardo - what “morose” or gloomy storyline are you talking about? Geoff Johns brought the JSA back to life. He gave us back the Pancake Breakfasts, ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ story-arc, and the ‘One World, Under Gog’ story-arc. The only thing bad that happend on his watch as writer of this book was the creation of MAGOG (who makes my eye twitch everytime I think of him). Geoff is THE MAN!
…OH, Almost forgot about the JSA cross-over to Earth-2 and Power Girl finding out that she actually belongs on Earth-0 and not on Earth-2…ALL these GREAT stories. Geoff doesn’t just write stories…he ties up loose ends!
Uhh….they are androids, not cyborgs.
Cyborgs are part human part machine.
Dc kinda has a major character named Cyborg…can’t believe these characters wouldn’t know the difference.
