Take a look at DETECTIVE COMICS #862

There isn’t much I can say about this cover — aside from the fact that Batman and Batwoman are both on it — but who needs my commentary when you have art this lovely by Mr. J.H. Williams? Nobody, I say.

Absolutely one of the best bat books on the stands. Actually, if Frank Quitely was on B&R it’d be touh to say what is better, Detective or B&R? After yesterday’s muddy Phillip Tan art I say the winner goes hands down to Detective….Oh CBR reviewed GO part 1 and gave it full stars!!!!!!!

It is one of the best books, but it’s funny that that the best written and best drawn heroe comics out right now are Bat books!! I am a pig in $h!t.

I know lichu12…it is very sad day in the DCU. :(

But, since Kyle was the host of Ion at one time, maybe there is a slight residue left in Kyle’s body that will somehow bring him back to life - in another time/place.

I cannot believe you just spoiled Green Lantern Corps on a Detective post. You’re an idiot.

  8. moderntenshi04 says on :

I swear to GOD do you guys have to post that he’s dead?!

Not everyone has had a chance to read the issue yet, and you’re going around spoiling shit.

    God dammit.

Thanks for ruining what could likely be one of the most shocking moments in this entire event.

Seriously, I hate idiots like you.

  9. marco4 says on :

What the guy before me just said.

It’s one thing if you morons had posted that in the comments section of a Green Lantern/Blackest Night related post - it still would have been WRONG, btw - but why the hell should I have to see that because I went to a Batman/Batwoman related post??

    Jackasses.

  10. marco4 says on :

Re: the above, if there are any moderators around here, perhaps you could delete at least comments #4 & 5 before anyone else has the surprise ruined for them.

  11. ronm says on :

Seeing as moderators have to OK postings I’d like to know why the hell they’d allow idiots to post spoilers.

  12. rebis says on :

Why the hell is my post awaiting moderation while #4 & 5 get to spoil away? I agree with #9: You should’ve disallowed those posts. They are neither germaine to this topic, nor did they come with the standard “spoiler alert.”

  13. moderntenshi04 says on :

They don’t have to. My posts get through just as soon as I post them.

But yeah, either delete their posts (there’s another one in the Batgirl preview article), and preferably set their accounts to be temporarily moderated for approval to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

  16. thecoyotegospel says on :

I was seriously upset that these posts are abundant but my posts relating to the actual articles sit around for a day awaiting moderation. Perhaps the moderators don’t have a lot of knowledge about the comics themselves and are just checking for vulgar and offensive language, but I’m becoming seriously disenchanted with this blog for allowing things like that to happen.

  17. heffison says on :

Rats. I’ve been avoiding most of the Batbooks until Dick Grayson regrows his balls and ditches the Batman costume. The fact that Detective hasn’t involved Dick and Damian made the book even better, for me, although it is absolutely awesome in its own right.

I won’t skip Detective just because Bat-Temp is showing up, but I’m sure not looking forward to it as much. Let those of us who aren’t all thrilled with having a snarky Robin keep our refuge.

As for the dude with the irrelevant spoiler post, ignore it and don’t click his link. If this gets him the attention he craves, he’ll just do it again. Not quite as lame as having Grayson give up Nightwing for Batman after he broke away from Bruce to be his own man, but still…pretty lame.

  18. wildclaw says on :

@heffison you’re missing great stories. @Lichu get a life. did you get the love you needed child with this stupid spoiler shit!!!

  19. glmax says on :

if it helps the moderators at all, Lichu’s personal website (when translated) shows that he goes out of his way in his write up of GLC #42 to NOT post a spoiler. The fact that he does it here is super jerky.

Being a huge Kyle Rayner fan (literally about 5 issues away from having every comic appearance of him - ever including elseworlds, even if he’s only in the issue a panel) his death truly caught me off guard and i wouldnt want anyone else to lose out on the experience because of some crazy poster.

That being said - what a great Detective cover!

  20. emeraldlatenight says on :

I hope the moderators are responsive to this kind of childish behavior. I already avoid the message boards because too many stories were being spoiled. Now it looks like I’ll have to stop reading “The Source” too.

This is not cool at all.

  21. dl316bh says on :

@heffison: If coming back and taking the Bat mantle means Dick lost his balls, then he lost them fourteen or fifteen years ago and you’re simply late to the party.

What has being his own man done for him anyways? Even when he tried his best, his life still fell under that shadow. He had no real villains of his own worth much. Besides that, the “I don’t want to be Batman I want to be my own man angst angst angst” is so played out that it’s disgusting. I think it’s well past time to move on from that; it’s been rehashed enough with both Dick AND Tim, plus it did little but make them seem like annoying whiners.
