Mmmmmmmm…I love me some Redddddd Robin!
Athough John Stanisci’s art isn’t bad, I’m SO spoilt on Marcus To. I’m glad it says: “Guest Artist”, and hopefully To will be back soon.
I do like the Batgirl team-up; that’s always fun - even back in the day when it was Dick and Babs. And, he’s back in Gotham…thank God!
Normally I’d be annoyed by yet another unsolicited artist change, but I like this guy’s art. It almost looks like Sienkiewicz inked this.
Red Robin’s one of my favorite books right now…. LOVE IT!
And Batgirl’s a nice enought character, so you know I’ll be checking this out!!!
I’m kinda annoyed that this intro doesn’t fit with what we saw in last months Red Robin. That being said I’m still going to pick it up.
Phil Noto keeps making Red Robin look like an old man. He did that on the World’s Finest cover, too.
Since I miss the Robin/Spoiler days, I welcome this wholeheartedly! Gosh, it really looks like the Batman family might be growing up! …And we promise, DC, this is one change you don’t have to reverse right away..!
I absolutely LOVE the line about Dr. Mid-Nite and Tim’s reaction to it. A nice tip of the hat to fan complaints about the costume.
And speaking of costumes, the initial releases they did of the new Batgirl costume didn’t look as nice as that art. Guess it just goes to show that a good artist (and colorists!) can make any design look good.
meh, the art for this one looks a little messy, but other than that, I can’t contain myself for this.
Yeah I agree the art is a bit me
Damn iPhone, like I was trying to type, I agree, the art is messy but I draw like that on purpose. Also, I had to hurry thru the book because of the shorter than I’m used to deadline so I hope I can get a lil slack. If anything pick up the book for Miller’s writing which is both hilarious and smooth. The art, maybe not so much but I did the best I could on the time I had.
red robin has been a great read and batgirl hasnt been half bad itself so ill be enjoying this
Am I the only one that thinks that Batgirl is awesome? My favorite Bat book right now. Looking forward to this issue because Red Robin is my second so , WIN! Should be some good stuff.
Also, just thinking, Talent Caldwell is pulling some Howard Chaykin out of his little art box these days. Nice!
I’m not so much for picking up books I wouldn’t normally read, just because a book I do read is crossing over with it. (Amongst other things, I don’t really have the coin to spare.) Hopefully the story will still progress in a somewhat coherent manner just within the pages of Red Robin…
[...] thanks to DC Universe: The Source, you can check out a preview of the issue [...]
Bah!!! Another book with a late, unannounced art change. Hey DC this is lame! What’s the big deal about getting someone to draw an entire issue of something? Marvel does it just about all the time!
Not to put down Talent because I’m sure he did his best on the art with the time given him, but what happened to Lee?
Replacement artists happen all the time and are nothing new. Maybe I’m okay with it because I was raised on it, having the Morrisson(and Waid) and Porter(and a bunch of other talented dudes) JLA run being my first comic that i bought every month. There were always guest artists… it just happens! That having been said, I think Talent Caldwell’s super-talented and I didn’t realize the art was him! It’s really nice(and I agree a little Chaykin-esque)! Bravo on the quick turn-out and it’s ALWAYS nice to see a creator post on the blog!
I trully miss Cassandra Cain (both as a character in itself as her role as Batgirl… I find Stephanie very uninteresting, to say the least). And the costume, too (I think it was way better than the current one).
Has anything been said about Cassandra’s return?
Not to make it sound like a teenage soap opera or nothing…but Tim and Steph will get back together….right?
…please?
A few heroes I could name deserve some kind of stability, they certainly qualify.
