OUT TODAY: ACTION COMICS #887

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

By Alex Segura

What happens when writers Greg Rucka and Eric Trautmann and artist Pere Perez pit a bruised and battered Nightwing and Flamebird against the reincarnated Kryptonian sun god Rao? Well, it won’t be a pretty fight. My money’s on the sun god.

ACTION COMICS #887 hits today.

Holy Moley! They got someone to draw an entire issue of a Super-title! I bet it’s even going to be on time!

And it looks fairly good. What next, an issue of Superman or Action that focuses on the titular character instead of obscurities like Nightwing and Flamebird?

I’m ready for the 100 minute war to end and JMS to shake off the crumbs.

Looking forward to picking up this tomorrow. I’ve enjoyed the Nightwing/Flamebird story. I just hope that Bette Kane reclaims the title in Batwoman’s ongoing. It would be cool to have the “new” Batwoman have a kick ass side kick

    Still no Superman? (sigh)

I wonder if JMS’s work on Superman will translate to a new story arc in Action Comics. I never got on board with Nightwing and Flamebird. Give me Superman or give me… well, give me Superman.

Love the nod they gave to John Raymond and the Red Circle. I knew he’d go places in the DCU.
