Going to be in the Los Angeles area on Saturday? Well, we’ve got something to add to your schedule that we think you’ll enjoy.
Superstar writer Geoff Johns (BLACKEST NIGHT, BRIGHTEST DAY, GREEN LANTERN, THE FLASH) will be signing copies of the newly-released ABSOLUTE GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH at Skylight Books that day, starting at 5pm for about two hours. Never had the chance to meet Geoff? Haven’t seen how amazing Ethan Van Sciver’s art looks in the Absolute format? Well, now’s your chance to do both while experiencing one of the most respected bookstores serving the Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silverlake and Echo Park neighborhoods.
The signing ends at 7pm. For more information, visit the Skylight Books website. Skylight’s location is below.
What’re you waiting for? Carve out the day, book your flight/train/car/bike and get rolling. It’s sure to be an event to remember involving one of the industry’s best writers and one of recent memory’s major stories — reverberations of which are still being felt in the DCU today.

A new era starts here for the GREEN LANTERN CORPS, as Tony Bedard steps in as the book’s regular writer, joined for the first arc by artist Ardian Syaf. We can’t reveal much about the first story, titled “Revolt of the Alpha Lanterns,” but we can show you a page from the first issue. That’ll tide you over for a little bit, right?

This isn’t just a Catman story; it’s THE Catman story, as Thomas Blake continues his bloody trail of vengeance tracking the man who took away the only thing he ever cared about. This issue’s definitely not for the faint of heart, as writer Gail Simone and artist Jim Calafiore pull out all the stops.

This July, you can do what no other Lantern could – hold the power of the entire Lantern spectrum in your own home. Just be careful, OK?
From DC Direct comes the BLACKEST NIGHT POWER RING SPECTRUM PVC Ring Set, which features designs that are authentic to the hit comic series. Each of the wearable, adjustable plastic rings (one each in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, black and white) instantly lights up with a long-lasting LED bulb when you slip the ring on your finger. You can also turn off the light manually and change the battery by using a key that comes with the set.
Packaged in a deluxe window box, the rings make for a eye-catching display when they are not being worn.
And as you can see from the photo above, the rings are not only supremely powerful, but extremely stylish.

We’ll have a first look at BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #1 later this week, but to tide you over until then, we’ve got a new image for you to enjoy.
While, as most of you know, superstar artist Andy Kubert is handling cover duties for the entire series, the variants are being provided by each issue’s interior artist. You’ve seen the variants to #1 and #2 in this space already, but why stop there?
