For R.E.B.E.L.S. #23, writer Tony Bedard and artists Claude St. Aubin and Scott Hanna bring in a special guest star: none other than Green Lantern John Stewart!
In the issue, Adam Strange plays peacemaker between Vril Dox’s band of rebellious space cops and the entire Green Lantern Corps, and negotiations aren’t going well at all. Let’s hope Lobo can stay on his best behavior… but I wouldn’t bet any of own money on that!
R.E.B.E.L.S. #23 hits stands today.

A hero is often defined by his or her villains. And few heroes have villains as cool and colorful and flat out weird as the Flash.
The Rogues define the Flash and he defines them: Mirror Master, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard, the Trickster and most especially the two Captains Captain Cold and Captain Boomerang.
In FLASH 7, the spotlight falls on Captain Boomerang. How did Boomererang first fall in with the Rogues? Why has he returned from the dead? And does he still have what it takes to be a Rogue?
You’ll find out the answers to at least two of those questions on Wednesday. In the meantime, FLASH fans, we’ll leave you with a question or two of of our own — who’s your favorite Rogue? Digger? Or Cold? Or somebody else altogether?

He has a “R” on his shirt, but he’s not Robin. Who’s the mysterious kid in the Batcave with the orange hair? Is it Clayface’s kid? Maybe Joker’s son? Hmmmm….
Batman’s a detective. Aww, yeah, he’ll figure it out in TINY TITANS/LITTLE ARCHIES issue 3, out Wednesday.

Poison Ivy rarely leaves Gotham City, and yet here she is in Smallville, just as the town’s vegetation is out of control. Think she might be in town to actually help Superboy get to the bottom of this mystery? Yeah, color me skeptical, too.
Issue 2 of SUPERBOY lands on Wednesday.

It may or may not be good to be the King, but it’s definitely an amazing time to be a Batman fan. Month in and month out, the writers and artists are knocking out some great books with a truly distinctive look and feel to them. Take Paul Cornell and Jimmy Broxton’s wry, action packed mini-series KNIGHT AND SQUIRE: it’s funny, playful and, in just two issues, the series has introduced a slew of memorable and quirky new villains.
In issue 3, on sale Wednesday, they deliver their unique take on a classic villain: Richard III. Something tells me that William Shakespeare probably didn’t envision Richard III trying to take back the country through the use of social networking and a cloned army of all the worst Kings of England.
The issue is chock full of cool nuggets, like Squire’s advice about how to play the rumour columns to your advantage and the revelation that someone’s uncovered the Squire’s secret identity.
Can’t wait til Wednesday? Here’s a look inside.

David Kim is not a hero.
He is – was – a scientist with no intentions of dabbling in powers or fights between good and evil. He just wanted to do his research and marry his fiancée and have a normal life. Eventually, he planned on aging, retiring and dying. But sometimes, fate steps in, infects you with nanotechnology and robs you of life and death forever.
Now David is a XOMBI, permanently infected with a nanotech virus that regenerates his tissue no matter what happens to him. And he has been drawn into a world that makes no sense at times, and forced to confront things no scientist should ever have to contemplate. With his powers, he protects his friends, but he lives his unlife detached from the real world. Will he ever find a connection back to the life he once knew?
Creator and writer John Rozum returns to the fan-favorite title to continue the story of David, and to give the DCU a new corner of urban horror to explore. Right from the start, John’s throwing David in over his head, giving new readers and old friends alike the chance to dive into a new story and hold on for the ride. Joining him will be the excellent star artist Frazer Irvingon all visual duties to create a world few have seen and fewer still dare to dwell. There’s nothing like XOMBI you’ve ever read before, and you won’t believe what’s to come. Step through the door with David Kim and join him on his journey to destinations unknown. We promise you’ll be safe. Absolutely. After all, the XOMBI will protect you – as long as you don’t get too close.

We’re fans of all mediums here on The Source – especially if they involve some of our favorite characters, like Batman. So a game like BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, the upcoming sequel to the popular BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM is a no brainer. Batman? Fighting against some of his greatest foes on the streets of Gotham? Yeah, we’ll take it.
It seems like we’re not the only ones jonesin’ for a chance to play it. BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY’s been nominated for Most Anticipated Game at the SPIKE TV VIDEO GAME AWARDS.

(December 3, 2010) Amit Desai has been named Senior Vice President, Franchise Management for DC Entertainment at Warner Bros. The announcement was made today by John Rood, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Desai will be based in Burbank and report directly to John Rood.
“Amit is coming to DC Entertainment with a proven track record in building brands both inside and outside Warner Bros.,” said Rood. “That he’s already well-versed in our characters and brands from his experience working on the DC Universe animation business is an added bonus.“
In his new role, Desai will develop and implement the individual franchise plans for Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash, MAD Magazine, Vertigo titles, and other DC properties. This will include driving wider cross-promotional support across all Time Warner divisions.

Among his accomplishments, Desai is credited with the launch of new franchises such as DC Universe – a series of animated original movies inspired by DC Comics graphic novels.
Desai came to Warner Bros. from the Walt Disney Company where he was responsible for brand management and marketing/synergy activities on behalf of feature films. Prior to Disney, Desai also served in marketing roles at Nestle and American Express.
Desai is a native Californian and was raised in Santa Barbara. He earned a B.A. in Economics and History from UC Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Desai resides in Pasadena with his wife and daughter.
