Yowza, Guillem March. Now THAT’s a striking cover.

GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #22 is part of a one-month crossover with BATMAN and
RED ROBIN and hits stores in April. Won’t give away too much about the storyline right now, but it involves Angels of Death fighting against Gotham’s heroes over the fate of the city itself. Stay tuned…

DC AND VERTIGO IN 2011, TO BE CONTINUED….

Friday, January 14th, 2011

By David Hyde

I love ongoing stories. I adore cliffhangers. One of my favorite parts of reading comic books is being absorbed into a never ending story, one with infinite worlds.

Yet I often find I have a love/hate relationship with three words:

To be continued.

Those three words get the adrenaline pumping, and fill me with a weird mix of hope and anticipation. To be continued? But I want more! And now!

At the end of the day, though, I prefer seeing those three words over reading the alternative: the end.

So, I’m here to announce that our two weeks of teases and announcements on THE SOURCE and GRAPHIC CONTENT will… be continued, over the weeks and months to come in 2011. Consider this post the close of a chapter.

Not to pat ourselves on the back but these last two weeks have been a fun ride. In case you stepped away from the internet for a loooooong break, here’s the skinny… We announced a new ongoing series, a spin off mini-series, a new character, the return of a major artist exclusively to DC Comics, two new graphic novels, a new ongoing artist, a new series written by an actual rock star, and even brought back a fan favorite, cult classic. We provided teases and hints of what’s to come and made some digital news, too. Not to mention those exclusive looks at some highly
anticipated shows, an animated film and two very high profile games.

And the best part?

We’re just getting started.

Flashpoint. Spaceman. Aquawar. Superheroes in FABLES. War of the Green Lanterns.

There’s a lot of story to be told, with many, many announcements to be made. One of the commentors on THE SOURCE noted that our company usually makes major announcements in February and March and I can confirm that
is indeed the case.

Thanks to everybody who followed along the last two weeks on both THE SOURCE and GRAPHIC CONTENT. Thanks most especially to everybody who weighed in with comments. Keep those comments coming. We are listening.

We are closed Monday for the holiday, but we’ll be back first thing Tuesday morning.

To. Be. Continued.

David, Pamela and Austin.

Headline: Welcome to FLASHPOINT Fridays

Friday, January 14th, 2011

By David Hyde

Flash Fact: Come back each and every Friday as we build towards the release of FLASHPOINT #1, and for the latest on the DC Universe event of 2011. This story is as ambitious and big as any event in DC history, and there’s much to tell in the weeks and months to come.

We’ll have one more tease for you this morning, then ask you all to come back next Friday.

Since this is an event centered on The Flash, it’s easy to run ahead at full speed in our excitement for the project. Because we have so much to say, we’ll be slowing down the news cycle here for a while.

We know there’s a lot of anticipation and clamoring for art and we can tell you now that Andy Kubert’s work on FLASHPOINT is spectacular, as you’ll see in the weeks to come.

FLASHPOINT #1 goes on sale this May. Can lightning strike twice?
