This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain maquette of SINESTRO is based on art from the highly anticipated Warner Home Video made-for-DVD animated original movie GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD KNIGHTS which will be released on June 7, 2011.

Measuring approximately 11.6” high x 4.75” wide x 4” deep, the statue is packaged in a 4-color box.

One of the most exciting pieces of news to come out of ComicsPRO this week is the announcement that Lee Bermejo, the critically acclaimed artist on the bestselling graphic novel JOKER, will be writing and drawing an original Batman graphic novel titled BATMAN: NOEL.

Most fans are familiar with Lee Bermejo’s art from his two high-profile collaborations with writer Brian Azzarello, JOKER and LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL, as well as the John Arcudi-penned Superman story he drew for WEDNESDAY COMICS which was serialized by USA Today. This will be Lee Bermejo’s debut as a writer.

As you might have guessed from the title, BATMAN: NOEL will be a holiday tale… with a twist.

Here are a few words about the project from BATMAN: NOEL editor, DC’s VP of Art Direction & Design, Mark Chiarello:

“I’m TOTALLY excited by this project, and not only because Lee Bermejo is such an astounding artist. Sure, the work he’s done in the past (“JOKER” ogn, “WEDNESDAY COMICS”) has been pretty brilliant and I’d expect nothing less from Lee, but the added bonus of BATMAN: NOEL being drawn AND written by Lee is extra cool. In other words, I knew Lee could deliver the goods artistically, but I never knew he was also this great of a writer!”

This is Texas in February? Hmmm, that’s funny, I thought Bob Wayne said it was going to be warm here.

So what brings me—and THE SOURCE—to Texas, as another winter storm descends across the country? As a longtime FLASH fan, one of my favorite things about the series has always been the FLASH FACTS. So what better way to celebrate the release of THE FLASH: THE DASTARDLY DEATH OF THE ROGUES in comic book stores everywhere today (and in bookstores next Tuesday) than to run a few behind-the-scenes Flash Facts about the book’s stunningly talented artist Francis Manapul?

FLASH FACT: In THE FLASH: THE DASTARDLY DEATH OF THE ROGUES, New York Times best-selling writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has teamed up acclaimed artist Francis Manapul to capture the essence of the Flash, just as he’s done in his epic six-year run on Green Lantern.

FLASH FACT: As intriguing as the mystery at the heart of the book is the story behind rising superstar Francis Manapul, who may be best known for his work outside comics.  As the co-host of Beasts Legend (which aired on History TV, Syfy and currently airs on both ChillerTV in the US and National Geographic Canada), Manapul traveled the globe, chasing down the stories of legendary monsters.

FLASH FACT: Born in the Philippines and currently based in Toronto, Manapul was inspired by the work of superstar artist Jim Lee to become a comic book artist, and by 2008 he was working on some of DC Comics’ biggest characters, including SUPERMAN, BATMAN, and GREEN LANTERN.

Started 60 years ago with Will Eisner as its first illustrator, PS Magazine (the preventive maintenance monthly magazine of the US Army) is now publishing its 700th issue. In celebration of this momentous occasion, DC Comics’ Sgt Rock and Easy Co. are making a guest appearance with Sergeant Half-Mast McCanick.

Legendary comic creator Joe Kubert illustrates the cover and an 8 page comic titled “PM For Easy Company” written by PS Magazine’s Production Manager, Stuart Henderson. In this unique comic Joe makes firearm maintenance a blast.

I asked Joe about what it means to him as a U.S. military veteran and as a comic creator to work on this anniversary issue and here’s what he had to say, “To act as a follow-up to a publication started by Will Eisner over sixty years ago is the thrill of a lifetime.”

Batman: Arkham Asylum was one of the most successful video games of 2009, and earned a Guinness World Record for the “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever.”  This May, find out what happened between Batman: Arkham Asylum and its highly anticipated sequel in BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY, a six-issue miniseries that bridges the gap between the two games, and leads into the game’s release this fall.

Written by Batman: The Animated Series writer Paul Dini (who also penned both Arkham games) and drawn by Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City concept artist Carlos D’anda, BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY picks up one year after the original game, where former Arkham Warden turned newly elected Mayor of Gotham City Quincy Sharp has decided to close down the infamous institution. In its stead, he establishes “Arkham City,” the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.  Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, inmates can roam free and do whatever they want as long as they don’t try to escape. To run this urban prison, Sharp has appointed Dr. Hugo Strange, a man who knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman.

Each issue of the miniseries will be available day-and-date digitally worldwide for $2.99 each. These releases will alternate with 8-page digital-first interludes that will expand on the story included in the miniseries. Written by Dini and drawn by a variety of artists, these digital stories will focus on The Dark Knight’s many enemies as they vie for power in this new city within a city. Each eight-page digital-first interlude will be available for .99 cents, releasing in between issues of the miniseries, and will later be included in print in the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY collected edition.

“The digital first stories offer a unique incentive for fans to experience interesting and exciting stories beyond the pages in the printed comic,” said Jim Lee, DC Comics Co-Publisher, “The additional pages will serve as interludes within the regular issues and won’t be necessary to follow the main story of the miniseries. Fans will also be able to read these interludes in print later, when we publish the collected edition.”

Read the comic before you play the game, and keep an eye out for the issue #1 variant cover, utilizing in-game graphics.

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY will double-ship in its first month, with issues 1 & 2 landing in May.
