Gotham City has always been a cesspool of criminals and trouble-makers – even back in the days of the Wild West. In ALL-STAR WESTERN #1, Jonah Hex is enlisted to help the Gotham Police Department solve the mystery of a vicious serial killer. “So much for Gotham being a one-horse town. Look at that dazzling city in the late 1800’s meticulously researched and brought to life by Moritat. Hex fans, you can relax. We’re not going to abandon seventy issues of dedication and love for the ugly bounty hunter,” co-writer Justin Gray told us about the image above.
This weekend, attendees of the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo saw some teaser images from this project, as well as a number of the first issues coming in September. Over the course of the day, we’ll be showing and linking to some other teaser art we premiered in case you were not able to make it to the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo.
In the meantime, head over to iFANBOY for another sneak peek at ALL-STAR WESTERN #1, written by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti with art and a cover by Moritat.

Michael Desai is a little bit of everything. He’s corporate. He’s elegant. He’s ruthless. He’s a survivor. He’s more dangerous than anyone knows. He is The Outsider.
We caught up with the miniseries’ writer, James Robinson about what it was like to create this new and multi-layered character:
“It’s exciting to be working on one of the Flashpoint books, especially one featuring Michael Desai, the Outsider — businessman, meta-human and villain combined — who’s a never-before-seen character that I hope readers enjoy meeting for the first time. It’s definitely fun to write a character with no morals and a love of tea and tailored suits. In all those regards he reminds me of myself.”
Head over to COMIC BOOK RESOURCES to view exclusive preview pages. THE OUTSIDER #1, written by James Robinson and with art by Javi Fernandez, hits stores next week.

With preparations for a massive world war underway, reporter Lois Lane finds herself to be among the sole survivors of one of Emperor Aquaman’s city-demolishing attacks. As a result, she’s forced into an Amazonian holding camp on New Themyscira to train to fight against the Atlanteans. But a concealed device from a fallen ally reveals that Lois’ fate may not be on the battlefield after all …
“Lois is a great character – one of the rare iconic characters in comics who have no powers. This series makes her the eyes on the ground in the middle of war between SUPER superpowers,” writer Dan Abnett told us. “Should a reporter cross the line and get involved the story? And if they do, can they make a real difference when the other players are demi-god superheroes?”
Head over to COMIC BOOK RESOURCES to view exclusive preview pages. LOIS LANE AND THE RESISTANCE #1 is written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning and features art by Eddie Nunez and Don Ho.
