OUT.COM previewed the highly anticipated BATWOMAN #3 by J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman.
MAXIM continued their weekly previews of DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. This time around? They’ve got you’re exclusive first look at GREEN LANTERN #3 by Geoff Johns, Doug Mahnke, Christian Alamy and Keith Champagne, in stores tomorrow.
GAWKER’s IO9 interviewed BATMAN: NOEL writer/artist Lee Bermejo. “I wanted to play around with the past juxtapositions of Gotham’s characters,” Bermejo said. “It’s important to make nods to the history without being nostalgic. When I was kid, I grew up watching the 1960s TV show. Because I was five, I had no idea that it was played for laughs. There’s an element of that in this book, taking Batman’s past history completely seriously.”
And speaking of BATMAN: NOEL, head on over to IGN for your chance to win a copy of the book.

Yesterday we announced the launch of our
DC Comics Google+ Page, something we were among the first companies to get a chance to create. We kicked that off with a preview of Batman #3 from writer Scott Snyder and today we’ve got even more good stuff for you there.
The Flash has realized that his Speed Force-fueled powers didn’t come with an instruction manual. There’s no reference guide he can turn to and learn that, hey, he can create tiny vortexes with his arms that can keep someone – or something – aloft. So his life is a lot of trial and error. Now he’s learned that not only does the Speed Force allow his body to move super-fast, it can also allow his mind to move faster than a normal persons. But it’s still a learning-as-he-goes situation that’s taking some getting used to.
On the DC Comics Google+ Page today we have a preview of The Flash #3 from Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato that show Barry Allen still getting a grip on just what his new fast-thinking abilities can do while also continuing to deal with situations that require his physical powers. Can he get the his brain and his body both moving at the same speed?
You’ll find The Flash #3 on sale Wednesday 11/23 both digitally and in print. Visit Read.DCComics.com for more information and stay tuned to our DC Comics Google+ Page for more as we continue to experiment with this exciting new platform.

Some have said that three is the magic number. If that’s the case, November should be a fascinating month. Here at THE SOURCE, we’ll spotlighting key third issues from DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 with an ongoing series of posts titled “3 Things You Didn’t Know About DC COMICS-THE NEW 52.” Expect the unexpected–in threes.
1) BACKUPS ARE COMING
Starting with #4 (on sale 12/7), ACTION COMICS will now include eight-page backups written by Grant Morrison’s hand-picked choice, Sholly Fisch (writer of THE ALL NEW BATMAN THE BRAVE & THE BOLD). Each one will tie in directly with the 20-page lead story. What’s the backup of #4 about? Well, that brings us to our next “thing you need to know”…
2) STEEL IS MAKING HIS “NEW 52” DEBUT
The lead story in ACTION #4 by Grant Morrison and Rags Morales features the debut of the “New 52” Steel! Last we saw of John Henry Irons, in ACTION #2, he had quit his military job in protest over Lex Luthor torturing Superman under General Lane’s command. Now, as the Terminauts lay siege to Metropolis, it’s time for John Henry to put his money where his mouth is and go help Superman defend the city. The backup in #4 ties into the main story by depicting a critical fight between Steel and the brand new Metall-0!
3) BRAD WALKER AND CHRISCROSS TO DRAW BACKUPS
Brad Walker (HEROES FOR HIRE) is drawing the backup in #4. The backups of #5 — spotlighting Ma & Pa Kent — and #6 will be drawn by ChrisCross (SUPERMAN/BATMAN). The backup of #7 sees Brad Walker return to the art, and then #8 — the conclusion of the first storyarc — is one big issue-long epic by Grant Morrison and Rags Morales!
As a bonus, check out this first look at Steel’s armor by Brad Walker (based off a design by Rags Morales)! Much in the same way that Superman is wearing jeans and a T-shirt in this current arc, at this point Steel’s armor is in its “prototype” phase. Look for the final design somewhere down the line, but in the meantime, get ready for one heck of a throwdown!

So how do they intend on doing so? By taking him to The Lazarus Pit, which Batman’s enemy Ra’s Al Ghul has used to stay alive for centuries. But can the team of Robins move beyond their personal differences to take on the League of Assassins and save Batman?

Ever since we launched DC COMICS-THE NEW 52, we’ve been trying to find the perfect outlet to post each exclusive preview. What better match, then, is there for BATMAN AND ROBIN than WIRED’s GEEKDAD? Head on over to their website to see an amazing 6-page sequence from issue #3, which is all about the tension between Bruce Wayne and his son, Damian.
USA TODAY previewed RESURRECTION MAN #3 and spoke with series writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. “His mortal soul is in jeopardy in a much greater way. The stakes are much higher than simply life or death,” Abnett told them. “There are serious repercussions about heaven and hell and what these supernatural powers are interested in. That’s really going to play out the next few issues where you’ve got forces both mortal and immortal fighting over him because he is so important.”
LOS ANGELES TIMES’ HERO COMPLEX spoke with the acclaimed creative team behind WONDER WOMAN, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang. “We’re striving for something that speaks to a certain timelessness but at the same time doesn’t get bogged down with older notions of the Greek gods,” Chiang said of the series. “We’ve done away with togas and sandals and stuff like that in order to make you look at them with new eyes. We want the characters to look and sound different, we want them to act different than you would expect … The fact that all of the Greek myths are really rooted in human behavior is great.”
IGN spoke with NIGHTWING writer Kyle Higgins about the Gotham hero. “He grew up a sidekick, studying under the best, then left to spread his proverbial ‘wings’ but ultimately came back to take his mentor’s place,” Higgins said. “In a medium where change is hard to facilitate, Dick is a character that has grown and developed — he’s a character who is built on the very idea of change.” While you’re at IGN, be sure to check out their exclusive preview of SUICIDE SQUAD #3.
Curious what else is coming out this week? POPMATTERS previewed DEMON KNIGHTS #3, COMPLEX MAGAZINE previewed MISTER TERRIFIC #3 and DC Comics’ official Facebook page has your first sneak peek at this week’s GRIFTER #3.

Batman is diving deeper into the mysterious Court of Owls that has always been thought of as a myth to the citizens of Gotham City, so much so there’s a nursery rhyme about them:
Beware the Court of Owls
That watches all the time,
And rules Gotham from shadowed perch,
behind granite and lime.
They watch you at your hearth,
They watch you in your bed,
Speak not a whispered word of them,
Or they’ll send the TALON for your head.
Who is this mysterious Court of Owls? And what danger will they pose to Batman as he investigates the truth behind the legend? Find out in Batman #3, on sale November 16th both in print and as a digital download. Visit Read.DCComics.com for more on how to enjoy DC Comics titles in print, online or on mobile devices.
